Naturopathic medicine is a holistic, individualized approach to improving health and treating illness.

The focus of naturopathic treatment is to support and stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself, resulting in optimal health, not simply management of disease symptoms.

The range of health conditions treatable by naturopathic medicine is similar to that treated by a family physician, focusing, but not limited to “chronic” health conditions (i.e., those lasting longer than three months, for example heart disease).

Naturopathic doctors use a variety of “tools”, including lifestyle medicine, nutritional counselling, nutritional supplements, botanical (herbal) medicines and acupuncture. These tools are combined uniquely for each and every patient to create a treatment plan reflecting their individual health concern or concerns, their health priorities, their lifestyle demands and any other challenges or obstacles that may be present.

Dr. Jen Parsons is a licensed naturopathic doctor and experienced speaker based in Toronto’s thriving east end. She treats patients with anxiety, insomnia, skin conditions, hormonal conditions, and digestive issues. The majority of her patients are experiencing a transition in their life be it a divorce, new job, new school, new diagnosis. She helps patients breakdown these changes into digestible pieces and supports them every step of the way.

She practices with the understanding that you are an expert in what you are experiencing and she an expert in evidence-based integrative medicine.

Dr. Jen received her doctorate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and in the course of her clinical internship she served disadvantaged communities at Queen West Community Health Centre, and practiced in a mobile medical clinic with Naturopaths Without Borders in Cap Hatien, Haiti. Prior to her naturopathic studies, Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University.

She is a committed lifelong learner. The field of integrative medicine is always evolving. In between clinic days, you’ll find Dr. Jen reading up on the latest clinical research, attending local and international conferences, and taking continuing education courses.

In her spare time, Dr. Jen enjoys hanging with her son and husband, cooking healthy meals for her family, practicing yoga and traveling.
